HORSHAM, Pa. (AP) _ Toll Brothers Inc. (TOL) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $129.3 million.

On a per-share basis, the Horsham, Pennsylvania-based company said it had profit of 87 cents.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 77 cents per share.

The home builder posted revenue of $1.72 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.54 billion.

Toll Brothers shares have climbed 16% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $38.36, a decrease of 12% in the last 12 months.
