Tokyo stocks open 0.52% higher

Tokyo stocks opened 0.52 percent higher on Monday, following US gains thanks to a steady December jobs report and an improvement in a key index for the service sector.

The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange opened up 55.58 points at 10,743.69.
