Tokyo stocks fall by break despite record Wall St. close
Tokyo stocks slipped Wednesday morning, losing early gains that had been driven by weakness in the yen and a record close on Wall Street.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.19 percent, or 36.32 points, to 19,345.12 by the lunch break while the Topix index of all first-section issues edged down 0.07 percent, or 1.16 points, to 1,554.44.
