Tokyo stocks down at break on Trump protectionism fear
Tokyo stocks slipped Tuesday morning as exporters were hit by a stronger yen fuelled by concerns over rising protectionism in the United States under President Donald Trump.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index edged down 0.07 percent, or 13.32 points, to 18,877.71 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section issues fell 0.28 percent, or 4.28 points, to 1,510.35.
