Tokyo stocks up 0.56% by break
Tokyo stocks rose 0.56 percent Thursday morning, taking a lead from modest gains on Wall Street, after falling from a three-month peak the previous day.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 111.68 points to 19,959.26 by the break, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares gained 0.45 percent, or 7.12 points, to 1,601.79.
