Tokyo shares up 1.49% by break
Tokyo stocks gained 1.49 percent Tuesday morning following rallies on Wall Street, while a dozen Pacific Rim nations, including Japan and the US, sealed a deal on creating the world's largest free trade area.
The Nikkei-225 index at Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 267.82 points to 18,273.31 by the break.
The Topix index of all first section shares added 20.56 points, or 1.40 percent, to 1,484.48.
