This TikTok-Famous Nugget Ice Maker Is $121 Off for Cyber Monday

If you’ve ever lost two hours of your life scrolling through TikTok (just us?), you’ve likely come across a few items you didn’t know you needed. Consider, for example, the GE Profile Opal Countertop Ice Maker, which is $121 off for Cyber Monday 2021 (an even steeper discount than the previous Prime Day sale, FYI). We thought our plastic ice trays were fine and functional until we realized we could make nugget ice at home.

What’s nugget ice, you ask? It’s what TikTok-ers consider the superior ice, and you’ve probably experienced it if you’ve even eaten at a Chick-Fil-A or Sonic. Instead of hard ice cubes, nugget ice is made from compressed flakes of ice, so it’s smaller and much softer—some would say chewable (although our dentist would probably frown upon that).

The GE Opal Ice Maker is a ‎17.5-by-13.43-by-16.5-inch cube that generates up to 24 pounds of nugget ice per day, and takes just 20 minutes to produce soft, satisfying chunks of the cold stuff. The storage bin holds three pounds of ice at a time, and the machine features a water reservoir that recirculates any melted ice to keep the bin full. It doesn’t require connection to a water hookup—only access to an outlet—and it can connect to your phone via Bluetooth (so you can schedule fresh ice from the couch).

Like we said, we had no idea such a machine existed until TikTok showed us the light. The machine normally costs $529, but for Cyber Monday only, it’s down $121 to $408. Better snatch one up before the rest of TikTok does—that “good” ice is waiting.

$529; $408 at Amazon
