Tigerair Signs Aircraft Maintenance Contract With Airbus

Tiger Airways Holdings (Tigerair) and Airbus have entered into a 10-year Flight Hour Services – Tailored Support Package agreement for maintenance of Tigerair’s A320ceo aircraft, commencing in early 2016.

Under the agreement, Airbus will provide Fleet Technical Management (FTM) services, which cover the planning and management of aircraft maintenance and reliability as well as Inventory Technical Management (ITM) services which encompass spares pooling and support, together with component repair and overhaul.

Tigerair will benefit from having an aircraft manufacturer’s experience and expertise to optimize aircraft maintenance and engineering operations. Expected cost savings will be approximately US$20 million over the term of the contract.

Tigerair currently operates a fleet of 22 A320ceo and 2 A319ceo aircraft. The airline also has 39 A320neo aircraft on firm order and another 11 on purchase options for future fleet renewal and growth.
