Tigerair and Scoot To Jointly Operate Guangzhou Services

Tiger Airways Holdings (Tigerair) has announced the expansion of cooperation with Scoot when Scoot launches daily services to Guangzhou, China, on 16 January 2016.

Scoot’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner service will replace one daily flight currently operated by Tigerair with a small Airbus A320 aircraft, better matching capacity to demand. The two airlines will together operate twice daily services and manage the route jointly, with effect from 16 January 2016.

The group stated that with Scoot operating one tranche of Tigerair’s service to Guangzhou with their larger aircraft, both airlines can jointly service the market more efficiently. Both airlines are also finalizing a similar arrangement for another route. The partnership agreements on these routes are structured to ensure win-win for both sides, and the group can also redeploy resources for expansion to new destinations.
