After years of rumors and anticipation, Taco Bell finally came out with its Doritos taco shells in March.

Now, it's revving up the hype machine for its next product. Earlier today, Taco Bell tweeted out this ominous hint about the next Doritos taco shell flavor:

Then, a spokesperson confirmed to the Huffington Post that Taco Bell is indeed coming out with the new flavor. From the Huffington Post:

"Taco Bell is 'releasing Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos later this year on the heels of the successful introduction of Doritos Locos Tacos, the biggest launch in Taco Bell history.' He declined to say when exactly they would be released -- but summer counts as 'later this year,' right?

So there you have it. Taco Bell will likely keep the exact date under wraps for a while to let the news sink in with its customers. By releasing the flavors separately, it can now create a ton a buzz all over again.

It's smart marketing, but will it save Taco Bell? The chain is still struggling, and it's betting on this series of Doritos tacos to be a key part of its turnaround.
