Global blockchain funding platform Dsion has launched its inaugural startup contest in Singapore. Called the Dsion Startup Challenge Singapore 2018, the South Korean firm has put $20,000 up for grabs to all entrepreneurs and startups from all industries.

The goal of the challenge is to foster, promote and support the fresh ideas of local businesses and entrepreneurs. Dsion will also host a startup challenge in the Philippines.

Its chief executive officer Seo Jong-pil said, “This will be a meaningful event. Through these startup challenges, Dsion is committed to working alongside those who dream of creating a better tomorrow.”

Working business proposal

Budding entrepreneurs can send in their best business pitches of any theme, idea or industry. Each entry must be a working business proposal that shows realistic projection of success and growth. The deadline is on 25 November.

All received entries will go through an elimination round, where the proposals will be assessed by a panel of judges made up of financial advisers, marketing maven, and experts in startup, investment, and blockchain.

From those selected entries, a shortlist of six candidates will be announced on 29 November. These candidates will then make their pitch to the Dsion judging panel during the finale on 9 December at the PSB Academy City Campus at Marina Square.

The winner will receive $15,000, the runner-up $3,000 and the second runner-up $2,000. The winners may also receive a variety of support and services.

This challenge is co-organised by Dsion, Singapore-based blockchain advisory and investment company Block Ventures and business networking group SBM.

Details on the startup challenge can be found here while budding entrepreneurs can submit their proposals via this webpage.
