StarHub’s net profit climbs 10% to $108.6m in Q2
Thanks to an uplift from an exceptional item.
A one-off $9.5 gain boosted StarHub’s net earnings in Q2, as profits for the quarter jumped 10% YoY to $108.6m.
According to a report by OCBC, for the half-year, net income jumped 17% YoY to $201m. stripping out the exceptional gain, StarHub’s 1H16 earnings came in at $192m.
For FY16, StarHub anticipates service revenue to be about that of FY15, down from low single-digit growth. Further, the company upped its EBITDA margin guidance from 31% to 32%, although still down from the 34.2% achieved in 1H16.
Otherwise, StarHub maintained its capex guidance at 13% of total revenue and $0.20 annual dividend.
