StanChart hires HSBC's Chow as Singapore head of global banking
Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Chow Wan Thonh as its head of global banking.
According to a statement on Wednesday (13 February), she will succeed Patrick Lee, who was promoted to chief executive officer last July.
Chow, who will be based in Singapore, will report to Bharat Padmanabhan, regional head of global banking of Asean and South Asia, as well as Lee. She will also join the Singapore’s management team.
StanChart added that Chow will be responsible for the bank’s business strategy as well as strengthening ties with the corporate and institutional clients in Singapore.
She previously headed HSBC’s global banking in Singapore and also its corporate, financial and multinational banking for Southeast Asia.
Chow, who holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the National University of Singapore, has over 25 years of experience in developing and executing business across transaction banking, capital markets and strategic advisory for corporate and institutional clients.
