South Park has been going for well over 20 years, but rather than slowing down, it's going to be bigger than ever.

ViacomCBS has ordered six more seasons and 14 original movies for its Paramount+ streaming service, with the first expected later this year.

Last year, news was doing the rounds that there were talks to expand the show with more movies and specials, but we weren't expecting a whopping 14 of them.

Bloomberg reports that it's one of the most lucrative deals in TV history, earning the creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone $900 million over the next six years.

Stone said: "We did a South Park movie in 1999, and we've never done another one because the show has been so satisfying.

"Now we're older, and the idea of what streaming movies can be is pretty promising. We do whatever we want, and they are pretty supportive of it. We're the luckiest guys in TV in that way."

ViacomCBS will be hoping this investment will bring more people to Paramount+, which is lagging behind competitors like Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max (which, ironically, exclusively streams all of South Park at the moment, minus some banned episodes).

South Park airs on Comedy Central. It's also available via streaming services including Amazon Prime Video and NOW in the UK, with selected episodes on Netflix. In the US, it's also available on HBO Max.
