Sonic: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Sonic Corp. (SONC) on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $18.6 million.

The Oklahoma City-based company said it had profit of 51 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 52 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 51 cents per share.

The drive-in restaurant chain posted revenue of $111.8 million in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $113.3 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $71.2 million, or $1.87 per share. Revenue was reported as $423.6 million.

Sonic shares have risen 58 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $43.30, an increase of 75 percent in the last 12 months.
