Singtel teams up with Inmarsat to boost maritime cyber security

It will provide a suite of cyber defences.

Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) and Inmarsat have teamed up to strengthen global maritime cyber security.

According to Singtel’s news release, Singtel’s cybersecurity arm, Trustwave, will provide the software-based Unified Threat Management (UTM) service to be integrated with Inmarsat hardware onboard ships, to protect data and lessen cyber risk for maritime firms.

The UTM service offers a suite of cyber security defences like advance firewall, anti-virus, intrusion prevention, and web-filtering backed by global round-the-clock support. It will be delivered through Fleet Xpress, available from a single communications provider.
