Singaporeans Can Consider Cruising Instead Of Staycations To Get More Bang For Their Buck

Going on a traditional holiday overseas via the routine booking of airfare, hotel accommodation and the planning of activities down to a T may or may not be the most cost efficient way to travel. While some may rely solely on travel agencies to get the job done, others may prefer a more hands on approach in crafting their own vacation, finding cheap flights and cheap hotels all on their own. We at GET.com know that the latter can be a really arduous, fastidious endeavour - never truly a good thing if you are a busy person who desperately needs to go on a vacation.

For a change, why not consider going on a cruise holiday? As a matter of fact, a modern cruise holiday is no longer restricted to that somewhat boring 3D2N trip that takes you to nearby destinations like Penang, Port Klang, Phuket, etc. There must be something cruise lines are doing right since more and more travellers, millennials included, are choosing to ply the high seas.

Just to emphasize my point, know that cruise lines are increasingly rolling out enticing itineraries that involve exotic locations, as well as exciting and better facilities on board. From rope courses and bumper cars to night clubs, karaoke lounges and whiskey rooms, amenities on board the bigger, more fuel-efficient ships are better than ever before. No matter whether you are travelling with your pals or family, take heart that you have plenty of options to pick from.

Besides, it sounds like a great idea that cruise holidays are cheaper than they used to be about a decade ago now that there's more competition a great economy of scale and lower oil prices.

Staycation venues in Singapore are definitely not the cheapest if you are particular about where you're staying. A night at Marina Bay Sands can easily set you back by around $500 while a night at Capella Singapore goes for at least $700.

Although fancy boutique hotels generally have nightly rates that are less than atas hotels, they might still not work out to be the most cost efficient if you consider other expenses such as food and entertainment; the things that come automatically with a cruise package.

A Wide Array Of Cruise Holidays Are Available

Adventure-loving travellers can even head to Galapagos Islands via Celebrity Cruises. For the uninitiated, Galapagos Islands is one of the world's most fascinating wildlife destinations. Themed cruises ranging from those that feature Hello Kitty or even Getai are no object, either.

Millennials who enjoy dancing to thumping electronic music have the option of going on a music festival at sea with It's The Ship. Those looking for some class can hop aboard luxury cruises in Singapore.

As the cruising landscape morphs and changes with time, the sky's the limit, really. And if you want to take things further, feel free to take a plane ride overseas to jump aboard cruises to the Baltic, around Scandinavia or even go on river cruises in other exciting locations. Keep your eyes peeled for fly-cruise packages if this is something that interests you.
