Singapore factory output fell 0.2% in September from a year earlier
Singapore’s manufacturing output decreased in September from a year earlier as production in the electronics and biomedical sectors dropped, data showed on Friday (Oct. 26).
Manufacturing output fell 0.2 per cent last month, contracting from a revised 3.7 per cent growth in August, data from the Singapore Economic Board showed, and missed the median forecast of a 3.5 per cent expansion in a Reuters survey. Excluding biomedical, output grew 1.9 per cent.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production decreased 4.9 per cent, down from a decrease of 2 per cent in August.
Electronics production in September fell 5.5 per cent year-on-year and biomedical output dropped 9.7 per cent on year.
