Singapore has 6 of 11 super penthouses currently on sale in the world

Singapore has 6 of 11 super penthouses currently on sale in the world
The largest of the super penthouses currently on the market is the 21,108 sq ft super penthouse in Wallich Residence.

Despite its small size, Singapore has six of the 11 super penthouses around the world that are currently on the market, based on listings from 2016 to April 2019, revealed List Sotheby’s International Realty (List SIR). The largest of these super penthouses is located in Wallich Residence.

List SIR confers the term super penthouses “only to penthouses that are 10,000 sq ft (929 sqm) and above”.

“Given the prestige and luxurious lifestyle offering, penthouses naturally fetch a higher premium than standard apartments,” it said. “Even more desired are those located at some of the ”supertalls” – 1,000 ft to 1,999 ft in height – in major global cities, offering spectacular views of their surroundings. These super penthouses tend to draw much attention and set record prices.”

The largest of the super penthouses in Singapore is the 21,108 sq ft super penthouse in Wallich Residence. Spanning three floors, the five-bedroom property comes with a pool, jacuzzi, cabana, entertainment areas as well as a dedicated lift and lift lobby.

The second biggest is found at The Marq, with a floor area of 17,642 sq ft. It is followed by Reflections At Keppel Bay (13,293 sq ft), Hilltops (12,600 sq ft), Concourse Skyline (11,130 sq ft) and Boulevard Vue (11,098 sq ft).

The luxury brokerage noted that it is the “uniqueness” of a super penthouse that is its main draw – being the only residence on the top floor, 360-degree spectacular views, four or more bedrooms, dedicated lift and lift lobby, concierge service, space for entertainment, boardroom for business meeting and private pool.

It revealed that only six super penthouse transactions took place in Singapore between 2006 and 2019, of which two happened over the last four years.

Sculptura Ardmore’s super penthouse was reportedly sold for over $60 million in September 2017 – making it the most expensive apartment in Singapore, followed by the penthouse in Le Nouvel Ardmore, which was sold for $51 million in 2015.

Three penthouses at Goodwood Residence were also bought in 2014, 2013 and 2010, and one at Marina Bay Residences in 2010.

Meanwhile, the five other super penthouses on sale across the globe are in Monaco, New York, Auckland and Miami – where two are on the market.
