SIA's profit rose by 61.6% to $286.1m in Q3

Higher operating profit of $330m boosted the increase.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) reported that its profit attributable to owners of the company increased by 61.6% YoY, from $177.2m in the third quarter of FY2016-2017 to $286.1m in FY2017-2018.

This was highly due to an increase in SIA's operating profit by 12.6% to $330m during the period, with Parent Airline Company rising to $155m, whilst Scoot and SIA Cargo increased to $43m and $88m, respectively.

Meanwhile, SIA Engineering’s operating profit declined to $18m, whilst SilkAir also fell to $19m in Q3.

Further, total revenue increased to $4.08b in Q3, from $3.85b in the same quarter of the previous year.
