SembMarine takes Marco Polo spat to Singapore High Court
It wants to get paid for the cancelled rig.
Sembcorp Marine’s subsidiary PPL Shipyard has taken its dispute with Marco Polo Marine to the Singapore High Court, the company said in a statement to the SGX.
SMM insists that Marco Polo needs to pay the second disbursement for the cancelled rig, which amounts to US$21.4m.
SMM also demands interest for the second disbursement as Marco Polo had failed to pay by the November deadline.
In response, Marco Polo refuses to pay the second disbursement, and instead claims that SMM needs to refund all previous payments that have been made for the cancelled rig.
