Sembcorp unveils its global asset management system

Sembcorp unveils its global asset management system

It uses predictive analytics in the operations of utilities plants.

Sembcorp Industries unveiled the Sembcorp Global Asset Management System (GAMS), a system which utilises advanced digital tools in predictive analytics for the operations of utilities plants.

The Sembcorp GAMS is housed with the Sembcorp Technology & Innovation Centre on Jurong Island, enabling the Group to efficiently manage global businesses and assets in its utilities operations across 14 countries.

The system consolidates operational data for Sembcorp’s global operations on a real-time basis and focusses on three key areas: plant optimisation, predictive maintenance, and process improvement.

Sembcorp Industries president and CEO Tang Kin Fei said the establishment of the Sembcorp GAMS demonstrates the Group’s commitment to strengthen and develop competencies in the technology and digital space. This involves close collaboration with partners including the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).

EDB assistant managing director Lim Kok Kiang said it is partnering the industrial and infrastructural sectors in Singapore to leverage digitalisation to enhance competitiveness and improve labour productivity.
