Sanjay Dutt beats lung cancer, confirms news on social media

Sanjay Dutt is now free from lung cancer.

The Bollywood actor on Wednesday confirmed this in a post on Instagram saying that he had managed to emerge victorious in his battle with cancer and thanked his family, friends, fans and doctors.

Dutt also wrote that today happens to be his children’s birthday and this is the best gift that he can give to them.

“The last few weeks were very difficult time for my family and me. But like they say, God gives the hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. And today, on the occasion of my kids' birthday, I am happy to come out victorious from this battle and be able to give them the best gift I can-the health and well-being of our family.

“This wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering faith and support from all of you. I am eternally grateful to my family, friends and all the fans who have stood by me and been my source of strength through this trying time. Thank you for the love, kindness and the countless blessings that you have sent my way.

“I am especially grateful to Dr. Sewanti and her team of doctors, nurses and the medical staff at Kokilaben Hospital who have taken such good care of me in the last few weeks. Humbled and grateful.”

Sanjay Dutt captioned the post, “My heart is filled with gratitude as I share this news with all of you today. Thank you.”

The actor was diagnosed with lung cancer in August this year and had taken a break from his hectic work schedule citing health reasons.

His wife, Maanayata, had issued a statement: “Sanju will complete his preliminary treatment in Mumbai. We will formulate further plans of travel depending on how and when the Covid situation eases. As of now, Sanju is in the best hands of our esteemed doctors at Kokilaben hospital.”

Last month, Sanjay Dutt and Maanayata had visited Dubai to be with their children, Shahraan and Iqra. The actor returned to Mumbai earlier this month for continued treatment.

The actor, who was last seen in Sadak 2, opened up about his cancer diagnosis for the first time last week in an Instagram video shared by celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim.

He is gearing up for the shooting of his next, KGF: Chapter 2, in November. The period action film, starring Yash, marks Sanjay Dutt's Kannada debut.

Just recently, Celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim shared a video of Sanjay Dutt, which went viral on social media. In the video, the actor talked about being diagnosed with cancer for the first time and revealed that he was all set to be back at work.

"Hi, this is Sanjay Dutt. Good to be back in the salon. Got a haircut. If you see this, this is a recent scar in my life, but I will beat it. I will be out of this cancer soon," Sanjay Dutt said.
