Russian charged for flying drone over Polish PM's office
Polish prosecutors said on Wednesday they had charged a Russian citizen with violating airspace laws for allegedly flying an unauthorised drone over the prime minister's office in Warsaw.
Identified only as Ivan K., police detained the male suspect on Monday after he was found flying the drone via remote control from inside his Porsche automobile parked in central Warsaw near the chancellery and the defence ministry.
"He has been released but is charged with violating airspace laws," Michal Dziekanski, a spokesman for the Warsaw regional prosecutor, told AFP.
Anyone found guilty as charged risks up to five years behind bars.
Another Russian citizen who had been detained at the same time was released after questioning without charge.
