RealNetworks: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

SEATTLE (AP) _ RealNetworks Inc. (RNWK) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $8.1 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Seattle-based company said it had net income of 21 cents. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, came to 16 cents per share.

The software and service provider for digital entertainment companies posted revenue of $17.6 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $4.9 million, or 13 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $68.1 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $3.12. A year ago, they were trading at $1.33.
