Riot Games has released the patch notes for League of Legends: Wild Rift's 2.2a update, which introduces a new champion — Rammus the Armordillo — the new Stargazer event and skin line, as well as a variety of other gameplay and balance changes.

Rammus will arrive to Wild Rift on 22 April, increasing the number of playable champions in the game to 62. Rammus is a tanky champion known for his stout defences, which he can also turn into a formidable form of offence through the many spikes that adorn his body as well as his ability to cause tremors around him.

Rammus will also be making his entrance to Wild Rift with two skins, Molten Rammus and Sweeper Rammus, in tow.

Alongside a new champion, Wild Rift will also be getting its first unique skinline, called Stargazer, for Camille, Twisted Fate and Soraka. To celebrate its debut, an in-game event will take place from 15 to 30 April that allows players to take on missions that unlock Blue Motes and accessories.

The new Wild Rift patch also introduces changes that makes the laning phase last longer and discourages early grouping by giving turrets a ton of defensive bonuses early on.

During the first four minutes of the game, the Solo (Baron) Lane and Mid Lane outer turrets gain 90 bonus Armor and Magic Resist while all outer turrets gain additional Armor and Magic Resist when multiple enemies are nearby, which can go up to 350 Armor and Magic Resist when five champions are nearby.

The patch also nerfs some of the stronger champions of the previous patch while giving other, less popular champions some much-needed champs. Corki, Dr. Mundo, Leona, Shyvana, and Vi have been nerfed while Blitzcrank, Diana, Galio, Pantheon, and Tristana were buffed.

Sunfire Aegis has also been nerfed while Infinity Orb was made significantly cheaper.

In addition, the free-to-play champion rotation for the rest of April has been released and is listed below:

Apr 15 - Apr 21: Braum, Evelynn, Fizz, Galio, Graves, Jax, Kai’Sa, Lulu, Singed, Varus

Apr 22 - Apr 28: Alistar, Aurelion Sol, Corki, Dr. Mundo, Fiora, Shyvana, Soraka, Xayah, Xin

Zhao, Ziggs
