HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) _ RadiSys Corp. (RSYS) on Tuesday reported a loss of $4.6 million in its second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Hillsboro, Oregon-based company said it had a loss of 12 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and non-recurring costs, came to 6 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share.

The provider of wireless infrastructure systems posted revenue of $24.4 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $20.6 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit $1.48. A year ago, they were trading at $2.44.
