Nominations are now open for the 2018 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore), which will see close to 30 awards given out to the city-state’s top developers.

New awards will be handed out this year for outstanding industrial development, smart building, and reconstruction project.

“As Singapore continues to lead the region in quality real estate, green and sustainable building, we believe that the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards will shine a light on outstanding new projects and design as the industry looks to recover in 2018,” said PropertyGuru Group CEO Hari V. Krishnan.

He added: “Consumer sentiment in Singapore remains stable, with more Singaporeans satisfied with the market despite affordability concerns, based on our latest market survey.”

One of the members of the judging panel is SPARK Architects partner Lim Wenhui, who has just been elected as the competition’s first female head judge. She replaces renowned architect Mink Tan, who remains on the committee.

Lim has more than 12 years of experience undertaking major design and architectural projects in Singapore and overseas.

She noted that Singapore is using innovative technologies and sustainability as part of its ongoing Smart Nation initiative to remake the city.

“Developers are taking advantage of advances in telecommunications, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, and data analysis to reinvent and reimagine long-established industry norms.

“They are also importantly taking seriously customers’ desire to live increasingly more sustainable lives,” she said.

Returning for the eighth year, the Awards is supported by platinum sponsor Kohler, official portal partner PropertyGuru.com.sg, media partner PropertyGuru Property Report and official tabulator BDO.

More than 300 guests are expected to attend the gala dinner at Marina Bay Sands on 12 October.

Main category winners will advance to the 8th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final, which will be held during the two-day PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit in Bangkok on 8 to 9 November.

Nominations for Singapore developers are being accepted until 10 August. For online submissions, please visit: AsiaPropertyAwards.com/nominations/
