Princess Anne spent the weekend (25 and 26 September) onboard a Royal Navy ship to meet the crew and support their work.

The Princess Royal joined the Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines onboard the HMS Albion ship to support "Exercise Joint Warrior". The exercise was undertaken off the Scottish Coast.

A post on the Royal Family’s official social media account shared photographs of the Princess Royal in naval uniform meeting a range of crew members around the ship.

A caption alongside the images explained that, “while onboard, The Princess visited the ship’s company across the vessel, from the galley to the engine room.”

It explained that Princess Anne is a Sponsor of HMS Albion and that she “spent the weekend onboard the ship to support the @royalnavy sailors and @royalmarines who are currently taking part in Exercise Joint Warrior, off the Scottish Coast.

“Such a fantastic hardworking and passionate woman!” wrote one commenter, while another added, “What an absolute amazing lady The Princess Royal.”

As well as spending time onboard the HMS Albion, Princess Anne also visited a graduation parade for new Royal Air Force officers at RAF Cranwell to congratulate their achievements.

In a busy few days for the royals, Princess Anne’s younger brother Prince Edward and his wife Sophie Wessex spent time in Northern Ireland visiting a range of projects.

Their trip included opening a new state-of-the-art leisure centre and thanking staff who had been part of its use as a mass vaccination venue over the pandemic.
