NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Pinnacle Financial Partners Inc. (PNFP) on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $93.7 million.

The bank, based in Nashville, Tennessee, said it had earnings of $1.21 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.20 per share.

The regional bank operator posted revenue of $299.6 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $240.9 million, which also beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $236.7 million.

Pinnacle Financial shares have dropped 17 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $55.01, a drop of 17 percent in the last 12 months.
