The 527-room hotel is located in the Bukit Bintang area, in a mixed-use complex owned by Singapore-listed UOL Group, the parent company of Pan Pacific Hotels. The building was previously the ParkRoyal Kuala Lumpur hotel.  In 2020, the hotel was closed and the property underwent extensive renovations.

Besides the new Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur, the complex also houses the Pan Pacific Services Suites Kuala Lumpur, which will open in 2H2022 with 210 suites that are targeted at long-stay guests.

Parkroyal Collection is Pan Pacific Hotels’ sustainability-focused offering that incorporates "iconic design with a sense of responsibility and care towards the environment and self", according to the group’s website. In Singapore, the brand has two hotels: Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay as well as Parkroyal Collection Pickering.

The architecture and design for Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur were helmed by DP Architects and FDAT, the design practice behind Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay. Incorporating biophilic design, the hotel features environmentally conscious elements including sustainable bathroom amenities, biodegradable packaging, and a food-waste management system.
