Nu Skin: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

PROVO, Utah (AP) _ Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. (NUS) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $40.1 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Provo, Utah-based company said it had net income of 72 cents.

The results matched Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 72 cents per share.

The seller of skin care and nutritional products through a direct-selling model posted revenue of $583.4 million in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $583.2 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $173.6 million, or $3.10 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.42 billion.

For the current quarter ending in April, Nu Skin said it expects revenue in the range of $480 million to $510 million.

The company expects full-year earnings to be $2 to $2.40 per share, with revenue ranging from $2.17 billion to $2.3 billion.

Nu Skin shares have dropped 13% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $35.80, a decrease of 48% in the last 12 months.
