Nu Skin: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

PROVO, Utah (AP) _ Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. (NUS) on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $44.1 million.

On a per-share basis, the Provo, Utah-based company said it had profit of 79 cents.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 76 cents per share.

The seller of skin care and nutritional products through a direct-selling model posted revenue of $589.9 million in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $605.5 million.

For the current quarter ending in December, Nu Skin said it expects revenue in the range of $570 million to $590 million.

The company expects full-year earnings to be $3.07 to $3.14 per share, with revenue ranging from $2.41 billion to $2.43 billion.

Nu Skin shares have declined 25% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $46.24, a drop of 36% in the last 12 months.
