Nordson: Fiscal 3Q Earnings Snapshot

WESTLAKE, Ohio (AP) _ Nordson Corp. (NDSN) on Tuesday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $93.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Westlake, Ohio-based company said it had profit of $1.62.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.80 per share.

The maker of adhesives and industrial coatings posted revenue of $559.7 million in the period, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $588.1 million.

Nordson shares have risen 14% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $135.48, an increase of nearly 1% in the last 12 months.
