Move-in-ready homes you’ll want to live in right now

When one of the richest men in the world launches his first luxury residence project in the country, you know it is probably going to be, well, luxurious. And so it is with Reignwood Hamilton Scotts. Built by the Reignwood Group of Dr Chanchai Ruayrungruang, it is his first foray into Singapore’s property market.

It is also freehold. It is at 37 Scotts Road. It has only got 3-bed and penthouse units. And it is exceptionally swish. With an average price of around $10 million per unit so far, so it should be. But once you’ve seen the displays of light that are actually a laser guidance system working to power the sky lift that takes your car to your sky garage, you’re probably sold already.

It must have been pretty spectacular when it was being developed by KOP properties. But this was clearly not enough for Dr Ruayrungruang. The lobby has been converted into a waiting area reminiscent of a villa with art décor pieces by local artist Kumari Nahappan, and the gym has been enlarged and outfitted with Technogym branded equipment.

And it is, of course, next to a 45 metre lap pool with cabanas and picnic umbrellas on the side for sunbathers.

The development reigns over its immediate surroundings, and has some of the most beautiful views in the city. If you can afford it, this is a place to reside in rather than to rent.

OUE Twin Peaks is another luxury development, if not quite as over the top as Hamilton Scotts. Luxury furniture from high-end brands, well-designed units that are large and cleanly designed; the building has a genuine sense of being occupied by high-powered executives worth a bob or two. It houses one, two, three and four bedroom units so there is plenty of choice.

With floor to ceiling windows that maximize the amount of natural light and neutral white or bright colours making every room feel and look bigger, OUE Twin Peaks does what is says on the tin: a luxury development located a short walk from the delights of Orchard Road.

It is expensive because it is where it is: slap bang in the middle of one of the liveliest and most sophisticated parts of Singapore. It is also right next to the upcoming MRT station extension, which means now is the time to buy – and reap the rewards of better transportation in the future.

The next luxury development to salivate over has not technically completed. But if you can wait a couple of months until the summer to move in, Spottiswoode Suites will be well worth it.

Located at 16 Spottiswoode Park Road, the 36-storey luxury development is in the exclusive area within a short walking distance of the wonderful bars and restaurants (and hospital) surrounding Outram MRT station. It has one, two and three bedroom and duplex units, so once again, plenty of choice.

But it is not all city hustle and bustle. There’s a considerable amount of nature on your doorstep, with a large forested area sitting behind a clearing designated as a communal area. There are other, more pecuniary considerations to take into account too.

Just down the road, Tanjong Pagar Railway station is being redeveloped as the Cantonment MRT station, while the old rail corridor that used to service it is being redeveloped into a green community space, stretching a staggering 24km.

Both of these things will keep prices stable or rising well into the future, making this a really good long option for newer buyers to the market.
