The Motley Fool Appoints New Chief Financial Officer

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- February 13, 2018 -- The Motley Fool Holdings, Inc., a global financial services company dedicated to helping the world invest better, announced today the appointment of Kerra McDonough to Chief Financial Officer. Mrs. McDonough has been a member of The Motley Fool's finance team for over 18 years and was formerly serving as Chief Performance Officer.

"As a board director, leader, and one of the most level-headed, experienced, and trusted Fools around, Kerra is as responsible as anyone for The Motley Fool's success over our company's 25-year history," said Tom Gardner, Co-Founder and CEO of The Motley Fool. "I know that others share my enthusiasm to have her steady hand at the helm as we explore new waters together as a company."

Mrs. McDonough is assuming the role from Ollen Douglass, who held the position for 17 years. Mr. Douglass is moving to a newly created role as Managing Director of Motley Fool Ventures, a venture fund planned to launch later this year. Mr. Douglass will guide The Motley Fool's efforts to provide its members with access to inspiring entrepreneurs leading high-quality, private-stage companies.

"I'm excited about the new opportunity, and equally excited about Kerra moving to the CFO role," said Mr. Douglass. "We've worked side by side for 17 years, and I can attest, without qualification, to Kerra's abilities. I am confident that she will succeed and continue to be a valuable asset to the company."

Prior to joining the company in 2000, Mrs. McDonough was a budget analyst for Booz Allen Hamilton. She earned a finance degree with a concentration in corporate finance and investment from the University of Alabama.

As CFO, Mrs. McDonough will oversee accounting and financial strategy across all of The Motley Fool Holdings. 'Roll Tide,' as Kerra would say.
