MFA Financial: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

NEW YORK (AP) _ MFA Financial Inc. (MFA) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $100.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had profit of 21 cents.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 20 cents per share.

The real estate investment trust posted revenue of $153.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $70.7 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $378.1 million, or 79 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $581.7 million.

MFA Financial shares have risen slightly more than 3% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 7% in the last 12 months.
