Media Advisory: Minister Oliver to Promote Canadian Energy Resources in Europe

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 5, 2013) - The Honourable Joe Oliver, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources, will travel to Paris, Brussels and London from May 6 to 10. While there, the Minister will promote Canadian energy, Canada's favourable investment climate and Canada's commitment to Responsible Resource Development. The Minister will also discuss Canada's views on competitiveness and the importance of fair and transparent rules and regulations in regards to the proposed Fuel Quality Directive by the European Union.

In Paris, Minister Oliver will speak to the Canada-France Chamber of Commerce and will respond to questions from the media afterwards.

In Brussels, the Minister will meet with senior officials from the European Union and the Government of Belgium and will do a press conference.

In London, Minister Oliver will deliver remarks at the High Commission of Canada and will respond to questions from the media afterwards.

The Minister will also participate in conference calls from each of the cities to respond to questions from media.
