SINGAPORE — Two Housing Development Board (HDB) projects will be launched in Tengah as part of the upcoming Build-To-Order (BTO) launch on Tuesday (30 May).

Dubbed the largest BTO project in Tengah town to date, the Parc Meadow@Tengah will see about 1,980 units for sale and have a construction waiting time of just over three years – the shortest waiting time among the flats to be launched in the May 2023 BTO sales exercise.

The second project, Plantation Verge, will comprise about 970 units and a construction waiting time of just over 3.5 years.

In total, the two projects will offer nearly 3,000 flats for sale in Tengah during the May sales exercise, which is more than half of the about 5,500 flats to be offered during the launch.

Together, the two projects will offer aspiring buyers a selection of flats ranging from two-room Flexi to five-room flats. HDB added that about a third of the flats would be five-room flats.

Amenities, features and ACS

According to HDB, the Parc Meadow@Tengah BTO project is located in Park District amidst a lush park-like setting. Residents here can look forward to green and blue spaces, such as the future Central Park, Forest Stream, Garden Farmway, green links, rain gardens and skyrise greenery.

The project also includes plans to have shops, an eating house, a minimart, a residents' network centre and a childcare centre.

The Plantation Verge project is located within Plantation District, which is planned as an area for community farming. The project is situated next to the Forest Fringe, a 15 to 20-metre-wide landscape trail surrounded by various flora and fauna.

Future residents of the Plantation Verge project can look forward to amenities including a childcare centre and other amenities in the nearby Bukit Batok Town Centre.

All Tengah residents will be able to enjoy amenities planned for the town, This includes a park, a car-free town centre, a neighbourhood centre, a community club, town-wide smart technologies, as well as access to stations at the upcoming Jurong Region Line MRT, which is set to open in stages from 2027.

In addition to existing schools in the Tengah vicinity, HDB said that new schools would be built within the town. This includes the Anglo-Chinese School (Primary), which will be located within one kilometre of the Parc Meadow@Tengah project once it relocates in 2030.

More HDB flats to come

The two projects are part of more than 21,000 flats across 20 BTO projects offered in Tengah since the launch of the first BTO project in November 2018. This makes up 70 per cent of the approximately 30,000 HDB flats that were planned for Tengah.

It also noted that more than 70 per cent of the projects currently under construction in Tengah have a waiting time of four years or less, despite construction delays brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"These include about 6,200 Shorter Waiting Time (SWT) flats where the waiting time at launch is less than three years," said HDB.

HDB said that it is on track to offer up to 23,000 new flats in 2023, and plans to launch 100,000 new flats from 2021 to 2025.
