The Foxes have enjoyed a tremendous start to the season and can even take a lead at the top of the table with a victory tonight. Brendan Rodgers’ side defeated fellow high-flyers Southampton 2-0 last time out and they are intent on securing a Champions League place after falling agonisingly short last season. It promises to be an even contest with the last three league meetings between the two sides drawn.
For Frank Lampard, though, a victory is required to alleviate the uncertainty around his position. Pressure continues to mount of the Blues coach after defeats against Arsenal and Manchester City over the festive period sent his side spiralling down the table. A victory last week against Fulham, courtesy of Mason Mount’s late winner, was by no means convincing but it did at least haul Chelsea up to seventh.
