Leeds United vs Arsenal: Prediction, team news, TV, live stream, h2h results - preview

 (ES Composite)
(ES Composite)

Leeds and Arsenal meet in the Premier League this afternoon, both looking to make amends for humbling losses suffered before the international break.

The promoted side conceded four at Crystal Palace - which not many can say - before Aston Villa put three past the Gunners in one of Mikel Arteta’s worst games in charge.

Another defeat on Sunday will see the chorus of Arteta doubters grow, and he is up against one of the most experienced managers in the game in Marcelo Bielsa.

Date, time and venue

Leeds vs Arsenal is scheduled for a 4:30pm GMT kick-off today (Sunday, November 22, 2020).

The match will be held behind closed doors at Elland Road.

Team news

Kalvin Phillips is hoping to return to action for Leeds. The England midfielder could start after missing Leeds' last three Premier League matches due to a shoulder injury.

Club-record signing Rodrigo is also back in contention after recovering from coronavirus, but Pablo Hernandez misses out due to a muscle strain, while Diego Llorente (groin) and Jamie Shackleton (thigh) remain unavailable.

Leeds provisional squad: Meslier, Cooper, Koch, Dallas, Ayling, Klich, Phillips, Alioski, Bamford, Struijk, Harrison, Costa, Rodrigo, Raphinha, Roberts, Casilla, Casey, Poveda, Davis.

Arsenal will be without Thomas Partey as the Ghana international continues to recover from a thigh injury suffered in the defeat to Aston Villa.

Mohamed Elneny and Sead Kolasinac are also unavailable after the pair both tested positive for Covid-19 during the international break.

Gabriel Martinelli (knee) is out but long-term absentees Calum Chambers and Pablo Mari are now back in full training, although a lack of match fitness means they are unlikely to feature at this stage.

Arsenal provisional squad: Leno, Runarsson, Bellerin, Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Gabriel, Luiz, Mari, Mustafi, Saliba, Tierney, Saka, Ceballos, Willock, Xhaka, Nelson, Pepe, Smith Rowe, Willian, Aubameyang, Lacazette, Nketiah.

Prediction: Leeds 2-1 Arsenal

Leeds can be thrilling in attack but very suspect at the back. Arsenal can be thrilling at the back but very suspect in attack.

Mikel Arteta will be desperate to make amends for the loss to Aston Villa, but he’s unlikely to get much help from Bielsa. The hosts may have the edge in this one.
