On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had profit of 26 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 31 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 30 cents per share.

The commercial real estate mortgage origination and finance company posted revenue of $130.9 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $76.7 million.
