Arielle Keil is a 26-year-old creative advertising student and who was crowned Miss Intercontinental New Zealand 2020. Arielle, who is of Filipina-German heritage, was born in Davao City in the Philippines and spent most of her life in Auckland, New Zealand. She is the first transgender woman and the first Filipina to represent the country in the beauty pageant. When Arielle first began transitioning in 2017, her family disowned her. While her relationship with her family has since improved, Arielle has made it her mission to improve representation for the LGBTQIA+ community in her country, so that other young people never have to endure the hardship she went through.
