Yahoo Finance Katie Holmes "can't believe" that daughter Suri Cruise is 15 years old
Katie Holmes is celebrating the birthday of her teenage daughter with a special tribute on Instagram, offering a glimpse into the lives of the usually private mother-daughter duo.
"Happy 15th Birthday Sweetheart," the Dawson's Creek star wrote in the caption. "I love you!!!!!!!! ❤️💕😘 I can't believe you are already 15!"
One photo shows Suri, whom Katie shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, as a child sitting in a kitchen next to some other kids. In others, Holmes can be seen embracing Suri, holding her close.
Holmes is known to be intensely private about her personal life, especially when it comes to her daughter. But in 2019 for ELLE UK's December cover story, she opened up about how the pair "grew up together."
"I was happy to become a mum in my twenties," said the actress, who gave birth to Suri when she was 27 years old. "It's been nice that our ages fit … how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match. We kind of grew up together."
When asked if she worries about bad influences on her teen daughter, Holmes responded, "Doesn't every parent? But, yes, of course, I'm worried. There is so much bad news and hate and things that don't make sense. … The atmosphere around the world is … terrifying."
Currently, Holmes is dating Emilio Vitolo, a New York City-based chef who she's been seen with on multiple PDA-filled outings.
