JPMorgan appoints Rachid Alaoui head of global equities - memo

LONDON, Feb 16 (Reuters) - JPMorgan has appointed Rachid Alaoui as head of global equities for its Commercial and Investment Bank according to a memo late on Thursday seen by Reuters.

Alaoui was previously head of global equity derivatives trading at JPMorgan, having joined the bank in 2005 as a trader on the equity exotics desk in London.

He will report to the investment bank's recently appointed co-heads of global markets Jason Sippel and Pranav Thakur. Sippel had previously been head of global equities, as well as several other responsibilities.

Other appointments announced in the memo include Rui Fernandes as head of markets trading structuring, and Sanjay Jhamna head of global credit trading, who will also take responsibility for public finance and credit portfolio lending. (Reporting by Samuel Indyk, editing by Alun John)
