Jennifer Lopez Shares BTS Photos Of New Movie, After Alex Rodriguez Split Announcement

Jennifer Lopez has wrapped on production of her latest movie, Shotgun Wedding.

The milestone will no doubt be bittersweet for the actress, singer and dancer who, during filming, also separated from her fiancé of three years, Alex Rodriguez.

The 51-year-old has been shooting the movie for much of 2021, which took place in the Dominican Republic.

Little is known of the movie apart from an initial synopsis, reported on Deadline which tells the story of a couple about to tie the knot at their destination wedding with all of their opinionated family members when they get cold feet, and then the entire wedding party is taken hostage.

Lopez stars as the bride-to-be in the movie, opposite Josh Duhamel (it was going to be Armie Hammer until he exited production following accusations about his private life, which he denies). Other cast members include Lenny Kravitz (who will play an ex-boyfriend of Lopez's character Grace) and Legally Blonde legend Jennifer Coolidge.

On April 22, Lopez confirmed that production on the Lionsgate movie had now wrapped, sharing pictures from set including a selfie with Duhamel and Kravitz. In the photos, Lopez can be seen wearing a beige corseted tulle wedding dress, while Duhamel is in a tuxedo. In other photos, the couple have fake blood and cuts on themselves suggesting the action movie levels of Shotgun Wedding.

The post is one of a few Lopez has chosen to share on her Instagram following news that she and Rodriguez have called off their relationship and engagement, after almost five years together and three years engaged.

In a joint statement, the couple said: 'We have realised we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.'

Earlier this year, Rodriguez and Lopez had been pictured together, at both J Lo's New Year's Eve performance in Time's Square and when she performed at Joe Biden and Kamala Harris' inauguration. Paparazzi also caught the couple in the Dominican Republic, with the former baseball player flying out to join his former partner between filming.
