Jenna Dewan launches debut activewear collection with Danskin

The Jenna Dewan x Danskin capsule

Actress and dancer Jenna Dewan has teamed up with the lifestyle brand Danskin on her debut activewear capsule collection.

Dubbed ‘Jenna Dewan x Danskin,' the series spans activewear, dancewear and intimates based on Dewan's love of dance, fitness and fashion. Highlights include coordinating leggings and sports bras, a jogger and hoodie combo, and a new take on the traditional leotard.

"My capsule for Danskin is so meaningful to me because I grew up wearing the brand," said the star of "The Resident" in a statement. "I designed this collection with active women of all ages in mind and wanted the pieces to look as good as they feel and to be able to move with the body all day long."

The debut collection focuses on a soft color palette of nudes, maroons, a rose gold pink, with fabrics including cotton/polyester jersey, polyester spandex with power mesh and soft fleece. The collection will be priced accessibly at $28-$100.

Dewan has been working with the brand as an ambassador for some time now, introducing it to a new generation of shopper by fronting multiple campaigns. She is the latest of several celebrities to put her stamp on the activewear trend, following in the footsteps of Vanessa Hudgens, who is reportedly creating a collection for the sportswear brand Avia slated to launch next year. Hollywood star Kate Hudson has also carved out a career in sportswear as the co-founder of Fabletics, which celebrates its fifth anniversary this year, while ballerina Misty Copeland has turned her hand to fashion design for Under Armour.
