Icahn drops objection, Nvidia unveils new tech, McDonald’s to get a facelift

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you today.

Carl Icahn is getting out of the way of Cigna’s proposed purchase of Express Scripts. The activist investor says he’s dropping his objection to the merger, after two influential proxy advisors came out in favor. Icahn had come out against the deal, saying Cigna was overpaying.

Nvidia is setting its sights on Hollywood. The chipmaker just rolled out a new generation of chips aimed at movie makers and graphic artists. The technology includes improvements in processing that will let designers see their work in real time. The CEO calls it the most important innovation in computer graphics in more than a decade.

Mcdonald’s is looking to serve up a whole lot more with its latest investment. The Golden Arches is putting $6 billion into modernizing most of its restaurants by 2020. New features at many locations will include dine-in table service, digital self-order kiosks and curbside pick-up for mobile orders.

Twitter is rolling out its Lite App to 21 more countries. The app takes up less phone space and was designed to load quickly on slower networks. India, Ghana, and Jordan are some of the countries to be introduced today. With 80% of its users outside the US, Twitter’s looking to expand to more emerging markets.
