IBM disappoints, more Facebook accusations, Apple apologizes

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you today.

IBM investors aren’t thrilled with the latest earnings report. The company posted a beat on earnings but revenue missed. CEO Ginni Rometty says the results show progress, as they move into new areas. However, many analysts say IBM has a growth problem.

Facebook is facing new accusations today from some advertisers. They allege the site knew that there were issue with how it measured viewership of video ads and failed to tell customers. They’re suing, alleging unfair business conduct. Facebook says it told customers about the error as soon as it was discovered.

Apple is apologizing after accounts were hacked in China. The tech giant says a “small number of our users” were impacted by phishing scams. Some stolen Apple IDs were used to take money out of Chinese customer accounts through Alipay and WeChat Pay. Apple says the customers hit didn’t have two-factor authentication enabled.

Viacom is getting real with its next reboot. MTV’s “The Real World” is coming back, exclusively online through facebook watch. Producers plan to launch 3 separate interactive shows, one in the US, one in Mexico and one in Thailand. It will happen early next year.
