Iamgold: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

TORONTO (AP) _ Iamgold Corp. (IAG) on Wednesday reported a loss of $353.9 million in its fourth quarter.

The Toronto-based company said it had a loss of 76 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and to account for discontinued operations, came to less than 1 cent on a per-share basis.

The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 2 cents per share.

The gold and niobium mining company posted revenue of $293.4 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $412.6 million, or 88 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $1.07 billion.

In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $3.15. A year ago, they were trading at $3.79.
